Parm Rai works mostly in black and white, using graphite, charcoal and slate dust as his signature palette, Parm Rai is a landscape artist who is deeply fascinated by the natural environment as a vehicle for making pencil drawings & paintings,
and soon to be on the site his photographs.

The inspiration and subject matter for my paintings is drawn from the
natural environment, the landscape, and elements within it. I am interested
in the visceral sensations evoked, and to this end I try to imbue my painting
with a sense of place.
I rarely attach titles to my work, because they are not intended as literal representations of places or things. Rather, they are to be viewed as meditative objects, that facilitate contemplation and reverie
